Rocky is an oracular construct on the first level of Stonehell. He consists as a carved stone head with large rubies for eyes. The head can swivel around on the pedestal it is placed on and the eyes can blink and his mouth can move. Other than that, he shows no outward signs of emotion or movement, though his speech indicates he’s a pretty easy going sort of guy. Bluish smoke continuously eminates from his mouth and is especially thick when he speaks loudly or coughs, as he does often and is especially fumacious after having strained himself by answering questions.
As discovered by the first adventuring party to find him, he was likely created by some sort of “real tall guy with a pointy hat and some weird tubes coming out of his neck and a bunch of weird looking armor all over his arms and legs”.
He told that party that he can answer three questions “right now”, though the party didn’t discern what that time constraint meant. There is no evidence to suggest his answers are accurate or not, though the answer “Pester not the fish that breathes air” suggests that he may not be tapped into the truth river as much as one would hope…
The kobolds in a room in the same section seemed to know about him and mentioned him by name. They seemed more comfortable with the party after they realized the PCs had spoken with Rocky.
Q — “How did you get here?”
A — “…The first thing I remember is openin’ my eyes in this room. And this real tall guy with a pointy hat and some weird tubes coming out of his neck and a bunch of weird looking armor all over his arms and legs was pointing at me. Then he puts his finger down and sort of nods, like he’s satisfied with somethin’ or other. Then he walks out of the room and closes the door. And that’s how I gots here, near as I can tell.”
Q — “Who is in charge here?”
A — “That’s easy… Eh… The goblins are in charge. Yeah, that’s it. The goblins.”
Q — Where is the wishing well?”
A — “Pester not the fish that breathes air!”
